Crews Work to Restore Power Amid Tropical Storm Debby Damage

Traffic Impacted, Residents Affected

As Tropical Storm Debby continues to impact the Lowcountry, crews are working to restore power to affected areas. As a result, all lanes on portions of US-17A are currently blocked, impacting traffic flow.

The South Carolina Department of Transportation (SCDOT) has identified the affected section of US 17-A as between Black Creek Road and MP 179. Both directions of traffic are currently closed while crews work to restore power and address any damage caused by the storm.

SCDOT officials anticipate that the affected section of US 17A will remain closed for an extended period. Drivers are advised to seek alternative routes and check the SCDOT website or social media channels for updates on the road closure.

The power outage has also affected residents in the impacted areas. Utility crews are working to restore power as quickly as possible, but residents may experience temporary disruptions to essential services.
