Baseball Star Mike Trout Injured Again

Troubling Trend Continues for Angels Outfielder

Trout to Undergo Surgery for Torn Meniscus

Los Angeles Angels star Mike Trout has suffered another injury, this time a torn meniscus in his left knee. The announcement was made on Tuesday by Trout and the Angels, and the injury is expected to require surgery.

This is the fourth consecutive season that Trout has been sidelined by a major injury. In 2023, he missed 80 games after undergoing midseason wrist surgery. A year prior, a back injury forced him to miss more than 40 games. His first major injury came during the 2017 season when he tore his left thumb ligament, causing him to miss 39 games. In 2018, Trout suffered from a right wrist inflammation that sidelined him.

Trout has been a bright spot for the Angels this season, batting .220 with a major league-leading 10 homers, 14 RBIs, and six stolen bases. However, his injury will sideline him for an extended period once again.

Trout had a relatively healthy start to this season, appearing in all of the Angels' first 29 games. The day prior to the announcement of his injury, he played the entirety of Los Angeles' game against the Oakland Athletics.
